Williams Black Knight Restoration Complete!

MEDFIELD, MA: Over 40 hours of MUSEUM QUALITY restoration work went into this EARLY production Black Knight for a client in Greater Boston. Interesting factoid about this rarer version of this title: This Black Knight has a low serial number and thus is more rare that the typical Black Knight. The older style system 6 architecture was used vs the system 7 architecture the 7 digit scoring games from Williams had at this point going forward. This game had the transformer and the GI relay in the head of the game, versus the transformer being in the bottom of the cabinet and the relay being on the later style power supply board. The gameplay of early and late architecture is the same– just how they were implemented was different.

As part of the restoration process, we deep cleaned the playfield surface as well as all the underside playfield switches for reliable game play, we rebuilt all 4 flippers, the pop bumper assembly, kicker assemblies, buffed all the playfield metal including each screw head, ramps and switch wire actuators. We buffed the rear glass channel metal as well as the coin door hardware, too! Added a new sheet of tempered playfield glass, New artwork Backglass, New coin door color inserts, new flipper buttons, new upgraded drop target sticker set, premium white silicone rubber rings and red silicone flipper rubber, new yellow flipper bats, new Weebly MPU/driver combo board, as well as a Weebly sound and speech board. We rebuilt the original power supply, added upgrades to the fusing of the game via a Weebly Solenoid Saver pcb, which individually fuses each one of the special solenoid coils. Also added fusing to the back box bridges to protect the transformer from damage if either of the bridge rectifiers ever fail. Warm Comet LED lighting all around for the GI circuit, as well as BLUE leds for all the blue insert playfield lighting. The effect is dazzling during rounds of multi-ball play!
